Guila Bustabo Vol.1

Guila Bustabo never achieved quite the reputation she deserved. Jean Sibelius had her in the highest regard and reportedly said of her performance of his own violin concerto at his estate in 1937 that she played it just as he “envisioned it when I composed it”. Her performances were characterized by intensity and extraordinary facility. The Brahms concerto and Saint-Saens'Introduction et Rondo capriccioso are new to her discography, as she didn’t otherwise record in the studio. None of these radio performances have been published before and aims to bring his artistry back into the present.
