Mstislav Rostropovich ∙ East Berlin Recital in 1964

9.99

Mstislav Rostropovich was far more heard as a conductor than as a cellist in those days in 1964, and when he appeared as a cellist, it was usually as a concerto soloist rather than as a recitalist. The recital that Rostropovich and the pianist Alexander Dedjuchin played at Marx-Engels-Auditorium in East Berlin gave a listener reason to enjoy the rarity of his solo performances. Rostropovich announced his encores in German.
